Charlies Second Year
Wednesday, November 21st, 2007Now that Charlie is sleeping a bit better both at night and during the day (hurray but could it just be a phase!) I appear to have a few minutes spare at last to pen away some thoughts and ideas on this blog that my darling husband has created for me. I hope to be able to blog away when time permits and add some pictures when I work out how. I don’t really expect any reponses as have not given this address to anyboy yet but if you happen to have a baby of 14 months old, consider yourself a slightly older mother (not infirm yet but getting there) and often find this new world of babycare utterly bewildering and dangerously reponsible then you might find something of interest at some point.
So Charlie is now 14 months old and has bypassed crawling for bottom shuffling which he has become very proficient at and could be said to resemble yogic flying. He is generally a cheerful soul except when he first wakes up, is on the changing table or feeling a bit needy and clingy. He is currently under attack from snot and lots of it so much more cryey than usual.
He is beginning to show an interest in books- me reading, him looking at the pictures and this can keep him occupied for several minutes until he gets bored and chucks the book across the room. We therefore rarely get past page 3 which can feel a bit “Groundhog dayish” but feel we get a few words further each day.
He is now sleeping well in his cot in the day from around 11-2pm which is probably a bit late for lunch but I still cannot face giving him lunch at 11.30am which seems to be a popular thing to do. Guess I will probably come round to it in the end but for the timebeing its good to be able to catch the double bill of Neighbours and Doctors while trying to feed him mushy healthy food that he does not want. All he really likes is bread, scrambled egg and yoghurt. The rest of the food groups are a bit hit and miss but occasionly he enjoys a small piece of melon.
